about

A co-write with my friend Richard Higgs. We both contributed to the lyrics and I wrote the music. After the death of his wife, it's about moving on.

lyrics

IT’S GOOD TO SEE YOUR SMILE

I’d forgotten all
about this faded photo.
We were posing
with old friends
all our smiles have faded now,
All except for yours,
Your smile darkened by
A deeper shadow
From an outstretched hand
beyond the frame,
your smile hidden in the dark,
now.. is shining bright

Refrain: It’s good to see you smile
It’s been a long, long while.

Some things come to light
In the blink of a shutter
Sometimes it takes
a lifetime for others
A smile can tell a story well
Or languish in the dark..
I see clearly
The heart that once was mine.
Colors faded now,
With the passage of time.
I did my best
Now your gone
All I have’s this photograph.

Refrain: It’s good to see you smile.
It’s been a long, long while
BREAK

I will place it
in the sunshine
By the window let it
fade to white
and when there’s nothing left to show
I can let it go, dear
It was good to see your smile.

about

Scott Aycock Tulsa, Oklahoma

I am a singer/songwriter living in Tulsa Oklahoma.
This is my third CD release and the first one produced by my son, Jesse Aycock and featuring both of my sons playing on the record, so it was especially gratifying.
The writing of these songs and recording this record lifted me out of a dark place and made me so grateful to family and the healing power of music.
These songs celebrate hope.
